As we start the Year of the Snake, I am thrilled to share an exciting milestone for our Transactional Analysis (TA) community. Together with my colleagues and dear friends who are deeply invested in shaping TA learning in Asia, we are proud to introduce the Southeast Asia Centre for Transactional Analysis (SEATA)—a new hub for TA education and practice, proudly powered by SeraphCorp Institute.
With SEATA, we aim to create a dynamic space where individuals and organisations can access high-quality TA training, whether for professional development or personal growth. Our offerings will include:
- TA101: The essential introduction to Transactional Analysis
- TA Foundations & Certification Training: A structured pathway comprising 8 modules that lead to the first step of becoming a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) in the Education or Organisation fields

The SeraphCorp Certificate in Transactional Analysis
For those looking to advance their knowledge and practice of TA, the SeraphCorp Certificate in Transactional Analysis is a stackable programme that serves as a stepping stone towards global certification as a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA).
SeraphCorp’s certification pathway is designed to provide both foundational and advanced knowledge in TA, catering to professionals in education, organisational leadership, and beyond. Our programme aligns with the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) and the International TA Association (ITAA) certification standards.
Transactional Analysis Foundations
TA Foundations is the first step in advanced TA training. It allows you to build on TA concepts after the TA101 to use TA more effectively in your field of practice.

This module sets the foundation for our TA Foundations! We dive a bit deeper into what OK-ness means, our relationship with hungers, and the way we structure our time psychologically to meet our basic needs.

Module 2: The TA World of Ego States (Origins and Overview) (2 days, 14 hours)
Ego States is one of the best known concepts in the TA canon, and also the most complex. This module provides an overview of the development of the Ego State theory and an insight into the common Ego State models. Come learn about them and find the model that works best for you.

Module 3: The TA World of Ego States (Structural) (2 days, 14 hours)
What informs your personality? What does contamination and exclusion mean and how does that show up? This module takes a dive into structural Ego States and brings you into a deeper understanding of Ego State analysis.

Module 4: The TA World of Ego States (Functional) (2 days, 14 hours)
How do you describe behaviour and think about communication? This module takes a dive into functional Ego States theory, where you learn the common models in the TA canon. Finally, learn about Functional Fluency, a contemporary TA concept that helps you think about behaviour modes and equips you to respond rather than react.

Module 5: Meet Yourself (2 days, 14 hours)
Who are you? What informs the decisions you make and your view of yourself, others and the world around you? This module provides an overview of some key components of life script. Learn about three-handed Life Positions and dive into injunctions and permissions.

Module 6: Meet Yourself (Part 2) (2 days, 14 hours)
More about you! Part 2 of Meet Yourself introduces you to some ways where your life script can show up in different circumstances. Learn how to recognise them, and to move into greater effectiveness.

Module 7: Meet Others (2 days, 14 hours)
How do we meet others, and how do we interact with them? This module looks at both effective and ineffective ways that we interact with others in order to meet our own needs or hungers. Learn more about key types of psychological games, and move from ineffectiveness to health with the Health System. Think about our own motivational patterns through stroke theory.

Module 8: Your TA Identity (1 day, 7 hours)
At this point, you should be ready to outline your identity in the TA community! Learn about the wider TA community in Singapore and beyond. Find out about the code of ethics that underpins our practice. Meet and hear from other TA practitioners about how they use TA in their work.

Completion of all 8 modules in the TA Foundations programme leads to a micro-credential Certificate in TA Foundations from SeraphCorp Institute.
Programme Details
- Duration: 8 Modules, 2 days each, every last Friday / Saturday of every odd-numbered month (with the exception of Module 8, which is 1 day)
- Venue: This is a blended programme. Friday sessions are in-person at the SeraphCorp office, while Saturdays are online over Zoom.
- Fees: $450 per module (before GST)
- Suitability: Each module is stackable, so you can join the group any time after completion of a TA101. Completion of all 8 modules is required for the SeraphCorp Certificate in TA Foundations.
- Approach to Learning: Here at SeraphCorp, we believe in co-creating learning together! Our TA Foundations programme is highly interactive, using experiential activities, reflective practice, and group discussions to apply TA concepts to daily life and work.

For those seeking formal accreditation as a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA), our structured training pathway includes:

Participants can enter this pathway after completing the TA101 and progressively build toward certification at a pace that suits them.

Bite-Sized Online Transactional Analysis (Education) Learning
We also offer bite-sized online Transactional Analysis workshops for educators looking to integrate TA principles into their teaching practice, designed to be accessible and practical. These workshops are conducted live via Zoom in short, focused sessions ranging from 2 to 4 hours. Each session is interactive, featuring experiential activities, reflective discussions, and application exercises that connect TA concepts to real-world teaching and learning scenarios.

TA Workshops for Educators:
1. 5 TA Concepts for Educators
This workshop series is based on Jean Illsley Clarke’s article, The Synergistic Use of Five Transactional Analysis Concepts by Educators, where she shares 5 essential TA concepts that can be used in the context of the classroom. We begin our series with a session on the article itself, as well as discussing the role of contracts in learning. Each subsequent session then provides a dive into each TA concept with a focus on application and integration into your teaching practice.
- Duration: 2-hour online sessions, conducted weekly (6 sessions in total)
- Overview: Based on Jean Illsley Clarke’s article, The Synergistic Use of Five Transactional Analysis Concepts by Educators
- Key Topics: Contracting, Ego States, Group Imagoes, Leadership, Frame of Reference, and the 5 Ps applied to education
2. Educational Imagoes
What informs your work as an educator? How does it impact the dynamic you have in the learning space? Come explore the six different ways of thinking about education in a series based on the article by Trudi Newton. We explore more about a particular philosophy of education in each session and think about how that looks like in actual teaching and educational practice.
- Duration: 3-hour online sessions, conducted monthly (6 sessions in total)
- Overview: Based on Trudi Newton’s research on Educational Philosophy and Practice through Imagoes in TA Training
- Key Topics: Six theories of adult education and associated philosophies in the context of teaching
3. Stories of Learning
Your past learning experiences informs the way you show up as an educator. This 4 hour workshop is based on key concepts in TA about our past experiences, and how we co-create the learning experience with our students. Come to explore your own past learning experiences through stories, and discover what you bring with you into the learning space. This programme comes with 2 sessions of individual TA supervision, where you can process insights from the workshop and build a more effective teaching practice. Group sizes for this workshop will be kept small, so book soon to avoid disappointment.
- Duration: 4-hour online workshop, followed by two 1-hour supervision sessions
- Overview: Based on Fanita English’s Four Story Exercise and Trudi Newton’s concept of Relational Learning
- Key Topics: Learning scripts and their impact on identity and teaching style
